“Mom.”
I… I don’t really know how to start this post. I need to sit down at some point soon and write out Henry’s birth story, but as it happens, I just don’t have time this morning. So — a couple of quick notes and I’ll check in again with you soon.
Oh, man. There’s so much to tell you. We’ll just have to get to it later. For now –
- Uncle Han called it.
- Dan Curtis Johnson turned us on to Trixie Tracker and it has been a life saver. How did people have babies before the internets?? More than you want to know, right here.
- Okay, I see a few of you have found the baby registry (Thank you, Gus! Thank you, Sean!) and Peter just wrote to ask for the url, so here it is. HOWEVER: people have been incredibly generous with us and there isn’t much left on the registry that hasn’t been purchased. What remains are largely high dollar items. Not entirely, but mostly. SO — I have a suggestion: if you want to send Henry Leo a little something, how about a card or a note that I can put in the beautiful baby book that Terry Tyson made for him? Send him well wishes, or, how about sharing some hard-earned knowledge? Try saving him the trouble of learning the hard way. (It won’t work, of course, but try it. ) It’ll be fun for him to read when he’s older and it might be a good writing exercise for you. If you’re an artist, we are putting together a sketchbook called “Henry, NO!” We’d love to have a little sketch from you of Henry having an adventure, laughing in the face of danger — anything that could be captioned, “Henry, NO!” (A baby tightrope-walking on electrical wires, for instance?)Mailing address is:
Henry Leo DeFraction
c/o Three Irons, Inc.
4741 Central, Ste. 216
KCMO, 64112(ETA: Pages are 12″ x 12″!)
- Did everyone see this? Is it super dorky for me to want to print it, the related bad signal and Laurenn’s post and put them in his baby book?
- Henry Leo has a posse.
- ETA: I am horribly behind on thank you notes (and everything else). I am not ungrateful, nor a cad, just a little inept. I beg your patience.
- EAgainTA: photos. More photos. And more photos. These kill me. I am a lucky, lucky woman.

Sooooo happy for you guys. Yay!
I said it to Laurenn, but now that you can make your own people, there is no reason for the USA’s quality of life index to have gone up significantly.
Congratulations! Very exciting news.
From your gift registry: Beth and I have the Skip Hop Splash thingie. It’s very nice and it saves counter space.
Wow…and the Earth moved…
I reallyhonestlytruly appreciate that you’ve just accomplished one of the most wonderful acts that you will ever experience. There’s sooo much more to come and writing thank you notes might just maybe be a bit down on the list of things that get done. I am just appreciating the vicarious peeking into the beauty of it all and well, that’s plenty thanks for me. All the photos are amazing and some of them have literally made me tear up so there’s that.
Blessings on you all.
Don’t worry about the internets…take care of yourself and King Henry first.
We’ll wait.
Tremendous. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Congratulations!
Congratulations. The photos you and Matt have been posting on Flickr are just beautiful.
Question! I’d like to make a “Oh, Henry!” sketch. What size is the book?
Best wishes.

Congratulations! Greg and I are sooo happy for your beautiful family.
Tons of congrats from our camp. So much fun to watch the Henry news unfold. Love!
You guys are absolutely beautiful. Kind of annoying, really. I have yet to see a bad photo of any of you. Could you get to work on that? I suggest some spaghetti smeared in the hair, possibly an accident with lipstick, something along those lines?
Congratulations; you’re all very, very amazing. Not really fair, packing all that awesomeness into one family. I really think you’re exceeding the quota.
//What size is the book?//
The pages are 12 x 12 scrapbook sized…or as KS put it once, about the size of her iMac.
Aw! Congrats a thousand times. He’s absolutely beautiful.
[...] let me thank Dennis Culver again for the amazing Henry, NO! sketch you see pictured above. So. Awesome. (Dennis is one of those guys who has really upped his [...]
